"The F-16 will not even have time to shoot back": the foreign press predicted the battle of the future fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the "strike cell" of the Russian Aerospace Forces

Ukraine has high hopes for F-16 fighters of American origin, which should be transferred to European countries for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But even if they are modified and receive an AFAR radar along with AIM-120C-7 air-to-air missiles, they will be able to do little in the confrontation with Russian aviation.

The usual "strike cell" of the Russian Air Force today consists of one Su-35 equipped with 2 R-37M, 1 X-31, 2 R-77 and 2 R-73 and providing excellent air cover and anti-radar protection (from Ukrainian air defense systems), and two Su-34 armed with 4 UMPK (with bombs of 250 or 500 kg) and 2 R-73 (for self-defense)

As indicated, the problem for the AFU is that the Su-35, if it detects the F-16 in time ("and the VKS will do everything possible to track every flight of the Ukrainian F-16"), can attack from a range of 150 to 200 km. This is approximately 3.5 times the maximum range of the AIM-120.

In most cases, the Su-35 will be able to destroy the future fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine long before it has time to get close enough and shoot back

According to him, earlier this month, the Ukrainian MiG-29 was already shot down by an R-37M missile, the same thing awaits American aircraft:

Once airborne, it is better for the target aircraft [F-16] to get out of the combat zone as soon as possible, if, of course, the pilot wants to survive.

As noted in the press, the pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may try to deceive Russian pilots, for example, by launching false targets of the ADM-160 MALD, on which the aircraft of the Russian Air Force will use up their P-37M and will not be able to hit the F-16.
