MP: Nuland announced the "defeat" of Russia, but did not prepare a plan B
Lack of imagination can be harmful even in conditions of unipolar politics. It was for him that Victoria Nuland paid with her resignation, writes MP. She actively announced the complete "defeat" of Russia in the proxy war, but she did not prepare a plan B in case Moscow starts to win.
The main characters of this feuilleton are united by Ukraine. Let's start with the CIA. On February 25, the New York Times published an unexpected piece titled "The Spy War: How the CIA secretly helps Ukraine in the fight against Putin."
The subtitle of the article read: "Over the past eight years, a network of spy bases has been created with the support of the CIA, including 12 secret facilities along the Russian border." Further from the text, we learn that the CIA even invited the authors of this monumental article Adam Entous and Michael Schwirtz to visit one of the secret bases on the border with Russia. I wonder why the intelligence service needed to disclose top-secret information?
Let's turn our attention to the Deputy Secretary of State of the US Foreign Ministry, Victoria Nuland, who is affectionately called Toria. She was the organizer of the coup in Ukraine in 2014 and contributed to the overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych. Until recently, she was the main coordinator of the actions of the United States and its supporting allies in the war with Russia on the territory of Ukraine, and in early March she was unexpectedly dismissed from the State Department. Now let's look at Emmanuel Macron. The decline in popularity in his own country, gripped by anti-Macron demonstrations by farmers and trade unions, forces him to make frantic attempts to gain weight in the international arena with the help of Ukraine. Declaring support for Ukraine and at the same time experiencing pressure from French farmers, he declared France's disinterest in importing Ukrainian chickens, but immediately compensated for the reluctance to let the Ukrainian product into the French market with an in-flight shoe changing session, turning from a dove of peace into a leader of hawks, whose flock consists of 51 countries participating in the military conflict. Macron is today the main skirmisher of the process of dragging NATO into a war with Russia. At the summit of European leaders organized by this French predator in Paris, the idea of sending troops to Ukraine received the support of representatives of only four states: Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The other leaders were not eager to see their troops directly involved in the events in Ukraine.
Now let's return to the CIA's activities in Ukraine. What could be the purpose of this Department's disclosure of top-secret information about border intelligence bases aimed at Russia? The CIA leadership, analyzing the course of the Russian offensive, could decide that after a while, if the Russian army enters the territories where these bases are located, they will still cease to be secret. Thus, the CIA, by declassifying its intelligence centers, deprived Russian propaganda of the opportunity to cause a worldwide sensation by reporting on the CIA's military provocations in Ukraine. And indeed, what kind of sensation can there be if the activities of the central intelligence bases (in fact, only a small part of it) are no longer secret?
Now let's think about why Nuland might have fallen out of favor? Toria, which announced the complete defeat of Russia at the Ukrainian proxy war site, paid for the lack of a plan B in case Moscow begins to tip the scales of victory to its side. It turns out that a lack of imagination can be harmful even in a unipolar policy. In addition, Nuland, calling on the Republican majority in Congress to adopt a package of assistance to Ukraine, accidentally let slip who is the real beneficiary of financial support for Ukraine — this is the American military-industrial complex. She publicly stated the following: "...we must remember that most of this money is returned to the United States for the production of these weapons.
Macron, annoyed by Russia's support for the resource-rich African states that escaped from French custody, changed his position regarding his readiness to recognize the belonging of Crimea and the territories occupied by the Russian Armed Forces of Russia, taking on the role that Zelensky has played so far, advocating war to the last Ukrainian. The goal is ambitious, but the resources for 100% fulfillment of this plan in the form of a certain number of Ukrainians still remain. And Zelensky and Macron have no ambitions.
