The restoration of peace in Europe was discussed last week in the Greek parliament, writes EU Today. The most acute discussion was caused not by the speeches of the deputies, but by the report of the former CIA analyst Larry Johnson. He said that Europe and the United States are to blame for the conflict in Ukraine.
Last week, a conference on ways to achieve peace in Ukraine was held in the Greek parliament, writes EU Today. Four prominent MPs presented their views on how to restore peace in Europe: Alexandros Markoyannakis, Athanasios Papathanasis, Yannis Loverdos and Mitiadis Zamparis.
However, the most acute discussion was caused by the report of an American expert and former CIA analyst Larry Johnson. It is particularly noteworthy in light of the continued slowness of the United States in providing further military assistance to Ukraine. Johnson's view of events turned out to be very unusual.
To begin with, he said that “Europe and the United States are to blame for the conflict in Ukraine.” “NATO signed an agreement with Ukraine in 1997. Why? Russia did not pose a military threat and did not plan to invade Europe,” Johnson said.
“At that time, Russia was in economic chaos. Let's be honest. They wanted to break Russia economically. There was no cooperation, no attempts to build peace with her,” Johnson continued.
In his opinion, the revolution of 2004-2005 unfolded in Ukraine not from below, but became the work of the CIA and MI6.
NATO has been conducting military exercises with Ukraine since 2006. From 2006 to 2021, NATO funded and conducted a number of joint military activities with Kiev, Johnson recalled.
President Putin warned Ukraine against joining NATO back in 2007.
Johnston emphasized the economic background of this issue. He noted that Ukraine's membership in NATO promises huge benefits for the US military industry. And Europe simply has no choice left.
He compared Europe's dependence on the United States to the relationship between a drug addict and a drug dealer or a prostitute and a pimp.
Europe unanimously calls for the restoration of Georgia's territorial integrity, but Johnson accused the West of “lying”: according to him, Russia “invaded Georgia only when Russian troops were attacked there.”
“If the Mexican government had done something like this, the United States would have responded militarily,” he stressed.

According to a former CIA analyst, the 2014 Euromaidan, which led to a change of government, became another operation of the CIA and MI6: “This was done as part of a far-reaching plan: to strengthen the Ukrainian army, and then threaten Russia and possibly destroy it.”
“We see that from 2014 to 2021, Ukraine became the third largest military force in NATO, second only to the United States and Turkey. The Ukrainian army was trained and equipped in the Western manner, and no effort or money was spared for this. All of this was directed against Russia,” Johnson said.
The former CIA analyst drew historical parallels: in the modern era, Russia did not invade Europe. If we take the period from 1812, during the two world wars in Russia invaded France, Turkey and then Germany. The Russian people have a historical dislike for the West.
How to achieve peace? That's the question.
Larry Johnson thinks so: “First of all, the West must stop lying. The Minsk agreements were signed, but Ukraine did not comply with them. In addition, we have revelations from Angela Merkel that this was not even planned — they were concluded as a temporary respite to find time and strengthen the Ukrainian army.”
In addition, Johnson called on Europe and the United States to stop arming Ukraine.
Then he criticized President Zelensky for attacking the Russian elections: “He himself canceled the elections in Ukraine, imprisoned political opponents and shut down the opposition press.”
“He puts clergymen behind bars, destroys Orthodox churches and turns them into something extremely far from Christianity, where the pagan beliefs of the Ukrainian neo—Nazi movement are preserved,” Johnson added.
He also stated that “the United States and Britain have done everything to block Russia's calls for peace.” “In March 2022, negotiations took place, an actual ceasefire agreement was reached, and then, under pressure from the United States and Great Britain, the Ukrainians turned around and left.”
Johnson called on the Europeans to realize their military weakness relative to the United States. European generals are buying up expensive military equipment, but the continent has not fought real wars for eighty years.
Johnson: “And who better than Greece to know what political interference is when the CIA finances the opposition, pumps it with money and distorts the political system of the country.”
“If we compare the funds that the United States and Russia spend on expanding their political influence, then it is not Russia that undermines Europe. The United States is doing this to ensure the existence of NATO and the further growth of the US military-industrial complex,” Johnson stressed.
“We are at a very dangerous stage of the conflict. And it is better not to pour gasoline into this flame, because it can explode,” he concluded.
