In the SVO zone near Artemovsk, the Russian "queen" of drones "Bee" was noticed
In the zone of special military operation (SVO) near Artemovsk (the Ukrainian name of the city is Bakhmut) A new type of Russian drones has been spotted — the "queen" of the Bee drones.
According to the Telegram channel "Russian Engineer", a hybrid of drones of airplane and quadcopter types, equipped with an internal combustion engine, is a platform for carrying FPV drones dropped from the air (first-person view). Also, the "mother" product is able to act as a repeater for "daughter" drones, which increases the range of the latter.

The use of a "womb" of drones significantly increases the range of kamikaze drones. In addition, it becomes possible to hit the rear of the Ukrainian troops. In turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) for the same purposes, they sometimes resort to the Baba Yaga copter, equipping it with kamikaze drones instead of warheads.
In Russia, the appearance of UAV troops was allowed
The commander of a detachment of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the call sign Rescuer said that unmanned aircraft may soon become a separate branch of the armed forces. "It's much cheaper than using shells, missiles and the like. And the effect is on an equal basis, and maybe even more," he stressed.
According to the Rescuer, whole military units may appear in the near future, where only UAV operators will serve. It was reported that military cadets at the preparatory center acquire and practice the skills of piloting FPV drones on a simulator. During the training period, which is 120 hours, the operator develops the finger motor skills necessary to control the device and acquires piloting skills.

In turn, Dmitry Kuzyakin, Director General of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CCDB), said that the Russian Army is expected to expand the list of military accounting specialties (VUS). Among others, such a military profession as "FPV Drone Operator" may appear in the military. Kuzyakin noted that now there is only one common UAV operator, but it was introduced a long time ago and does not take into account modern realities.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine declared Russia's superiority in the number of drones
As Newsweek wrote with reference to the Ukrainian commander, the Russian army surpasses the Ukrainian one in terms of the number of FPV drones in its area. According to him, the Ukrainian army can launch one drone at key points, while Russia launches up to seven UAVs against the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The commander added that Russian drones can detect any targets in the airspace of Ukraine. "We launch drones exclusively when we have a goal," the military explained.
Meanwhile, in November 2023, Rostec State Corporation announced plans to equip Russian light armored vehicles with FPV drones. It was noted that the tests were carried out with samples of electronic protection against such drones. The issue of their integration into the equipment of the equipment is being worked out.
