The Serbian army is introducing the SMASH 3000 aiming system, designed to defeat drones with small arms fire.
As indicated in the blog of Balkanska bezbednosna mreža, special units of the Serbian Armed Forces install the SMASH 3000 fire control system on FN SCAR L rifles. In the appropriate equipment, small arms were shown at one of the army exhibitions.
The SMASH 3000 is designed for precise fire control when firing both day and night at small mobile and stationary targets from an automatic rifle. The system increases the probability of hitting an object from the first shot at a distance of 250 m when working on larger targets and 100 m on small drones.
The SMASH 300 has a screen with a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels, a day and night camera. Structurally, the system is connected by cables to the trigger mechanism of the rifle. It does not provide optical magnification, but by calculating the trajectory and distance to it, the aiming point is determined.

The Israeli company Smartshooter is engaged in the production of the system, supplying a number of armies around the world. So, Britain bought 225 sights at the end of last year at a price of about € 24 thousand per piece. The U.S. Army acquired the SMASH 3000 in 2022, and it is claimed to have shown excellent results during testing.
According to American military observers, such systems are the future, as they are optimally suited to defeat drones.
