MOSCOW, March 5. /tass/. Military analysts presented a scenario of how a possible enemy attack on Russia could be carried out.
The authors of the article in the journal "Military Thought" published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation note that the attack can begin with a rapid global strike in parallel with several massive missile and air strikes on the administrative, political and military-industrial infrastructure of the country. In this regard, the role of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation in repelling potential aggression is dramatically increasing.
The forces and means of the enemy
According to the article, a possible adversary is studying the issue of forming compact, highly mobile interspecific multi-sphere groupings of troops capable of inflicting a complex defeat on administrative, political and military-industrial infrastructure in all spheres in a short time: land, sea, air, space and information. These new type of military formations are designated as "joint operational formations" (OOF). The combat and numerical strength of the enemy's OOF in peacetime can be 50-70% of the composition that will operate during the war.
"The most anticipated forms of OOF application are air-ground (sea) operations (campaigns). At the same time, they will begin with air (from 2030 - aerospace, in the future - space-air) offensive operations consisting of a rapid (instantaneous) global strike and several (from two to three to five to seven) massive missile and air strikes," the publication says. It is emphasized that at the same time, aviation will be one of the first to enter combat operations, possibly even before the deployment of the main group.
Intelligence and provocations
On the eve of the active phase of the operation, according to military experts, the enemy will take potentially aggressive actions, including provocations, including in order to control the situation, and will also strengthen all types of intelligence. In addition, it may begin deploying aircraft carrier strike groups and guided missile ships under the guise of exercises. Enemy aircraft, including strategic bombers and drones, will begin regular flights near the state borders of the Russian Federation.
The role of the VCS
These factors, as experts point out, expand Russia's military threats, which creates new requirements for the level of security of the country, and one of the key roles in this work is assigned to the Aerospace Forces.
"Increasing the role of the Aerospace Forces in the overall structure of military conflicts poses new challenges to them in the areas of: developing and equipping new and modernized models of aviation complexes, including unmanned aerial vehicles, weapons and military equipment, creating and implementing advanced automated control systems, improving intelligence, aviation engineering, airfield engineering and other types comprehensive provision," the article says.
The authors emphasize that it is necessary in peacetime to ensure readiness to respond to the actions of the enemy group, while a significant part of the tasks in the air sphere will be assigned to the operational associations of the Air Force and air defense.
