TsAGI is creating a new aircraft for small aircraft

In Russia, small aircraft is one of the most in-demand areas of the entire aviation industry, and aircraft developed for local airlines must be modern in terms of airframe, power plant and equipment, as well as meet all relevant safety requirements.

TSAGI makes a significant contribution to the development of Russian small aircraft.Zhukovsky, in which, in parallel with other projects, a number of aerodynamic tests of an aircraft model designed specifically for the needs of small aircraft were conducted. At the same time, this development has power plants that are placed at the ends of the wing, as well as an electric distribution power plant. It is worth noting that this program is being developed as part of the implementation of research works known as "MANGo – TSAGI".

TsAGI is creating a new aircraft for small aircraft

As expected, this aircraft will have a reduced fuel consumption relative to currently operating vessels. This indicator will be provided by a pair of marching powerplants placed at the ends of the wing — such an unusual solution, as engineers expect, will significantly increase the aerodynamic properties of the aircraft. Also on this model, TSAGI specialists are trying to introduce advanced tools that increase the efficiency and ease of control of relatively small aircraft with short takeoffs and landings — these are two-link flaperons combining flaps with ailerons, as well as mini flaps and other promising proposals.
