The IDF's invasion of the Gaza Strip has escalated the confrontation with Tehran, which is accused by Tel Aviv of supporting Hamas and Hezbollah. Against this background, information appeared in the Western press about the preparation of the Israeli air fleet for a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

As indicated in the British edition of Shephard, last week Ali Akbar Salehi, the former head of the Iranian nuclear agency, made a statement broadcast on state television, which implied that the country has everything necessary to create an atomic bomb.

The threat from Tehran's nuclear weapons has prompted Israel to make changes to its F-35s, while Russia's military operation in Syria has served as a catalyst for the development of anti-jamming systems.

- it is noted in the publication.

It is explained that the modernization of the F-35 is aimed at increasing its combat capability, preparing for strikes against Iran. As explained by Israeli sources, the stealth fighter, following the improvement, will carry more fuel in special outboard tanks at that stage of the flight when stealth is not required.

The aircraft will receive an Israeli-made precision-guided munition weighing 1,000 kg.

The bomb, which will be located in the inner compartment of the F-35, was described as a super-penetration weapon with a circular probable deviation of three meters

- the publication says.

No additional details were given about this weapon, but one of the "smart" bombs of the Israeli company Rafael, Spice 2000, has an additional [flight correction] kit for the 900 kg MK-84, BLU-109 and RAP-2000. It can be assumed that the new bomb was created based on Spice 2000.

The improved F-35, thanks to a highly classified data transmission system, will be able to receive target designation directly from gunners, bypassing the Air Force operations center. The ability to intercept attack UAVs will also increase.

During the modernization, the F-35 will receive systems that will allow it to operate in areas saturated with electronic warfare. Some of them are already in operation, while others are still being tested. Work in this direction began after Israeli planes collided with Russian electronic warfare systems.

Two years ago, Israel suffered from Russian GPS suppression systems located in Syria. Against this background, the development of equipment that would make aircraft immune to such failures accelerated

- the publication says.
