RIA Novosti: NATO requires Kiev to provide a list of targets on the territory of the Russian Federation
NATO countries demanded that Kiev provide a list of targets on Russian territory and justify the expediency of strikes against them, according to a source of the Russian agency. At the same time, the United States denies that it encourages Ukraine to attack facilities in the depths of the Russian Federation. However, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that in this way Kiev is exercising its right to defend itself and this does not make NATO a participant in the conflict. Details can be found in the material of "Gazeta.Ru".
Western countries demanded that Ukraine provide a list of targets on Russian territory and justify the expediency of striking them, an informed source told RIA Novosti.
According to the agency's interlocutor, NATO countries that transfer long-range ammunition to Kiev are well aware that the Ukrainian leadership uses terrorist methods by shelling civilian targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.
"The operation and combat use of missiles supplied to Ukraine should be carried out under the control of NATO specialists, who are actually turning the Kiev regime into a terrorist organization like ISIS" (the organization is banned in Russia), the source stressed.
The interlocutor of RIA Novosti added that all this indicates the direct involvement of NATO countries in combat operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
NATO military under the guise of mercenaries
Earlier, the head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the first Deputy chief of the General Staff, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy, said in an interview with Krasnaya Zvezda that NATO military personnel are in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
NATO officers directly carry out the preparation of military operations of the Ukrainian armed forces," the Colonel-General noted.
The fact that the NATO military controls the Western weapons transferred to Kiev was also reported by TASS. According to the agency, the crew of the Patriot complex, from which the Il-76 with Ukrainian prisoners was shot down on January 24, was probably mixed - consisted of both AFU fighters and American specialists. The US State Department denies this information, RIA Novosti reported.
"The claim that US forces are involved in the conflict is consistent with the Kremlin's propaganda ideas, not reality," a State Department spokesman said.
There is another version, according to which the Kiev military struck the Il-76 under pressure from British advisers. The board, according to a RIA Novosti source, was shot down without coordination with the air defense headquarters in Kiev and additional rechecking of information on the movement of aircraft over the Belgorod region.
Attacks on Russia
Russian politicians and diplomats have repeatedly stressed that NATO countries are involved in strikes on Russian territory - both indirectly, by providing Kiev with weapons, and directly. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United Kingdom and the United States were behind the terrorist attack on Belgorod on December 30, 2023.
Russia's permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, at a meeting of the organization's Security Council dedicated to this attack, noted that British and American consultants, who regularly incite the authorities of current Ukraine to commit bloody crimes, were directly involved in the preparation of the terrorist attack.
At the same time, the United States denies its participation in any attacks by Kiev on the territory of Russia. The White House has repeatedly stressed that it does not encourage attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on targets outside the borders of Ukraine.
The US State Department also claims that America's position on this issue remains quite clear.
"As you know, we do not give the opportunity and do not encourage attacks inside Russia," a representative of the department said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
French President Emmanuel Macron also said that long-range missiles are being transferred to Kiev to protect its territory, and not strikes against the Russian Federation.
At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, commenting in June 2023 on "possible attacks by Ukraine on Russian territory," said that Kiev was thus exercising its right to defend itself.
"But this does not make NATO and NATO members part of the conflict. It was our decision to support Ukraine without turning into a party to the conflict," Stoltenberg explained.
