The speed of the tactical off-road all-terrain vehicle reaches 100-120 km/h, the load capacity is 350 kg
KHABAROVSK, February 20. /tass/. The Khabarovsk enterprise will almost triple the production of the Yerofey buggy for the needs of a special military operation. This was announced to TASS by Alexander Leshchenko, deputy director of the company, after the discussion platform "Far Eastern Building of the SVO" at the forum "History for the Future. The Far East."
"We will increase production by 2.5-3 times this year compared to last year," Leshchenko said.
The only buggy production in the Far East has been launched in Khabarovsk. The speed of the tactical off-road all-terrain vehicle reaches 100-120 km/h, the load capacity is 350 kg. The transport was tested at the landfills of the Eastern Military District and refined. Over the past year, 25 units were produced, most of them were sent to the SVO zone.
To expand production, the company has built a new workshop with an area of 1.5 thousand square meters. m. Work in it will begin in the spring.
"The workshop is equipped with a wide fleet of equipment, which makes it possible to implement the principle of in-line conveyor production, which will significantly increase the volume and productivity of the line. 45 new jobs will be created," Leshchenko said, adding that the company expects to launch the assembly line of the buggy by the end of 2024.
Transport can be supplied for both military and civilian purposes, including for the forest protection and tourism industries. "The civilian version can be used for outdoor trips, for cross-country trips that are in demand among tourists," the agency interlocutor added.
All-wheel drive model
The buggy will be upgraded, and it is planned to introduce an all-wheel drive model by the fall. "The first priority is to make an all-wheel drive model. The front-engine layout provides for a roomy trunk in which it will be possible to transport more provisions, ammunition, and other things," Leshchenko said.
All-wheel drive will also enhance the cross-country characteristics. "If on the rear-wheel drive, the cross-country ability was provided at the expense of speed, then on the all-wheel drive model - at the expense of traction characteristics," he said.
The company is in constant communication with the military from the line of contact, which makes it possible to improve transport taking into account the recommendations of the fighters. During his speech at the forum, Leshchenko said that the participants of the SVO gave feedback on additional equipment, improving the operation of nodes. An anti-tank guided missile was mounted on the roof of the buggy on site and attempts were already being made to defeat enemy equipment.
