Ukrainian formations actively use unmanned aerial vehicles of various types during combat operations, including such interesting models as the Black Hornet Nano micro-drones. Footage of the use of such micro-drones during the battles for Avdiivka is shown on the Internet.
In the footage, we see that Ukrainian servicemen are fighting from a residential building. A small drone launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine flies over it. This is the micro-drone in question.
As you know, the Black Hornet Nano micro-UAV was produced by the Norwegian company Prox Dynamics, owned by the American Teledyne FLIR (a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies). Serial production of micro-drones has been carried out since 2012.

This drone is the smallest military drone in the world. Its length is about 100 mm, width – 25 mm, diameter – 100 mm, and weight – no more than 18 grams. The drone can fly at speeds of up to 5 m/s with winds of up to 8 m/s, and the flight duration is no more than 25 minutes with a flight range of up to 1 kilometer.

The micro-UAV has two surveillance cameras, which are placed in the nose of the drone. Data from the cameras is transmitted to the control station of the unmanned aerial vehicle in real time. The small size of the drone is its undoubted advantage when conducting reconnaissance on the battlefield, since it is much more difficult to get into it from firearms than larger drones.

Nevertheless, no drones helped the Ukrainian formations to hold their positions in Avdiivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to retreat from this most important fortified area, and the retreat was accompanied by heavy losses of Ukrainian formations in personnel and military equipment.
