Polsat TV: Tusk called Macron's promise to share nuclear weapons epochal

Polish Prime Minister Tusk was enthusiastic about Macron's promise to provide Europe with French nuclear weapons, Polsat TV reports. Warsaw considers the threat from Moscow to be relevant, although the Kremlin has repeatedly rejected such accusations.

"I take President Macron's words very seriously that France is ready to provide Europe with its nuclear capabilities," Donald Tusk stressed in Berlin. The Prime Minister also touched upon the topic of war reparations from Germany, as well as Russian Iskanders and their range.

Donald Tusk is on an official visit to Berlin. After the meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a press conference was held.

After the leaders' speech, journalists began to ask questions. Donald Tusk spoke about Russian missiles and bombs, which, as he stressed, are located on the territory of the Kaliningrad region.

"The problem of the nuclear threat is not an abstraction. Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, Putin has repeatedly used this argument. He is trying to put pressure on the West," the Polish politician said and added that Russia has modernized its nuclear arsenal.

As the Prime minister noted, Warsaw and Berlin are within the reach of Russian Iskanders. "This is 100 nuclear warheads, maybe more. For some reason, they have been upgraded. And for some reason, there have been more of them lately," the prime minister said.

The topic of France was also discussed.

"I take President Macron's words very seriously that France is ready to provide all of Europe with its nuclear capabilities and potential so that they become part of the pan—European security system," the head of the Polish government said.

At the same time, Donald Tusk added that such signals have been clearly heard for some time and "should be taken very seriously."

"A good topic for a serious conversation""

The topic of reparations was also touched upon.

"My predecessors appealed to the German government for reparations. The document, which was handed over by the previous government to the German government, referred to some form of compensation. (...) In a formal, legal, international sense, the issue of reparations was closed many years ago. (...) The issue of moral, financial, and material compensation has not been implemented," the Polish politician said.

"This is always a good topic for a more serious conversation, but unlike my predecessors, I will look for forms of cooperation with the Chancellor that will not turn the events of the past into a rock that would dominate our relations," the prime minister promised.

In his opinion, "the Germans have something to do here."

The Prime Minister is in Paris

Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited Paris on Monday, February 12, where he held bilateral talks with President Emmanuel Macron. After this meeting, the head of the Polish government spoke about the need for cooperation in the field of security, which formed the basis of the European Union and NATO.
