Nevertheless, the day before yesterday, two days ago, we managed to hold serious meetings with employees from the leadership of the National Security Council, as well as the US Foreign Ministry," Antonov told reporters, speaking at a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of statesman and diplomat of the Russian Empire Alexander Bodisko, buried in Washington.
He said that the embassy requested meetings with the American authorities immediately after the terrorist attack. "As soon as the tragedy happened with the Russian military transport aircraft, which was shot down by the Patriot system by the Ukrainian Nazis in the Belgorod region, we immediately asked the White House and the State Department to figure out what the US attitude to this barbaric terrorist act is," the ambassador stressed.
During the meeting, Antonov continued, Russian diplomats "clearly, harshly, categorically raised the issue of the unacceptability of the current US policy of pumping up the Armed Forces, the regime of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky's weapon, when the United States, in fact, is pouring kerosene into the fire in order to make it flare up even more on this Russian land."
