Fox News: Russia has developed an "invisibility cloak" for the military
Russia has developed an "invisibility cloak" - a new camouflage technology for the military, Fox News reports. The suit allows you to hide the heat trail of soldiers, weighs only 350 grams and fits easily in your pocket.

Russia has developed and implemented a new camouflage technology for its troops, which has been nicknamed the “invisibility cloak".
“This "invisibility cloak" is an element of the Russian, formerly Soviet principle of disguise, one of the pillars of the country's military doctrine,” the strategic military intelligence analyst and author of the book “Putin's Manual” told Fox News Rebecca Koffler.
“The idea is to deceive the enemy in all your actions and mislead him about the presence, position and number of troops and the time and place of the attack, as well as to prevent him from distinguishing between types of military equipment,” Koffler said.
“They attach particular importance to controlling and manipulating how the enemy perceives what is happening on the battlefield," she continued. — Russians spend huge resources on disguise. Yes, they do not always sew a normal military uniform so that soldiers do not freeze, but they will definitely spend on an “invisibility cloak.”
In an interview with the Russian edition of TASS in mid-January, HiderX described some of the nuances of the new military technology. So, the raincoat weighs only 350 grams (about three quarters of a pound), folds into a pocket and hides the heat trace.
“We are developing a fundamentally new product — a camouflage suit that breaks and blurs the silhouette. This is a completely Russian technology based on coating fabrics with a certain composition – our know-how, its details are not disclosed,” HiderX reported.
“The principle of operation is to shield the ambient temperature from the object. The suit will effectively mask Russian servicemen from enemy thermal imaging equipment,” her representative added.
The company said that the tests are ongoing and should be completed by the end of January.
HiderX stressed that various heat insulation technologies are currently being used in the SVO zone, but all of them are characterized by insufficient efficiency. “We use a different technology — shielding — which allows us to avoid negative consequences due to a different principle of operation. Thermoregulation occurs naturally due to the fact that the fabric breathes,” the company said.
Koffler with reference to the Russian TV channel Zvezda andMilitary Review” explained that part of the tests were conducted in Ukraine. The full suit includes a hood, cap and special glasses and provides effective cover at a distance of up to two meters.
“The material itself has three layers: the first one is internal, reflecting infrared (IR) radiation from the body. The second one is medium, absorbing IR radiation. And finally, the third one is external, reflecting IR radiation from the outside. Koffler explained. — The invisibility cloak was created at the Military Academy of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection (RCBZ).”
“For some reason, the Russians want us to know about their new development," Koffler stressed. ”That doesn't mean they're lying at all."
