Nuland: The United States will supply Turkey with the F-35 if it resolves the issue with the S-400 complexes

The United States will be happy to accept Turkey into the "F-35 family" if the parties can resolve the issue with Russian S-400 air defense systems, Victoria Nuland said. According to readers of the Haber7 portal, Washington is fooling Ankara, as it was with Patriot systems.

US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said that Washington would be happy to return Turkey to the F-35 family. At the same time, Nuland recalled that there is a problem with the S-400 on the way to this.

US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, who arrived in Ankara on Sunday, January 28, after Turkey approved Sweden's membership in NATO, with the aim of "revitalizing bilateral relations," answered CNN Turk's questions.

Nuland gave important signals on a number of hot topics, from the sale of F-16s to Turkey to sanctions under CAATSA, from speculation about the withdrawal of American troops from Syria to trade relations.

Regarding the US move towards the sale and modernization of the F-16, Victoria Nuland made the following comment: "While you were working in parliament, we tried to explain to Congress that it is very important for American security that Turkey improve the F-16 fleet, that in order to share the burden between allies, Turkey must be fully involved and involved in this the level. You already have a large fleet of F-16s. But it will be important for us to improve it. The 15-day period (which Congress has for evaluation and objections after official notification) began on Friday evening (January 26). In fact, your president was very excited at the time of signing (the documents on Sweden's accession to NATO). The courier boarded the plane, delivered (the documents) to the State Department, and we sent a notification to Congress. In 15 days, starting from last Friday, this deadline will expire, and then we will begin to implement it."

Speaking about the details of the agreement, Nuland stated: "First of all, this agreement consists of several parts. This is the modernization of existing aircraft and the sale of new fighters. Both parts are important. As I understand it, modernization begins immediately. To be honest, I cannot say for sure when the new aircraft will be ready, but it is obvious that their acquisition by Turkey is a priority for the United States."

Nuland noted that there were some problems in the defense industry due to the fact that Turkey was sanctioned under the law on Countering America's Adversaries through Sanctions (CAATSA), and continued: "The CAATSA sanctions were related to your government's decision to purchase S-400 air defense systems from the Russian Federation. This was the reason for the sanctions. We were in the process of negotiating the sale of the Patriot air defense system, while they were going, Turkey went in a different direction. That's why we had several discussions today. Obviously, if we can resolve the issue with the S-400, which is what we want, the United States will be happy to welcome Turkey back into the F-35 family. But first we must resolve the issue, while at the same time providing Turkey with a strong air defense system. I repeat, we have been proposing to discuss strengthening air defense for many years, both before and after the purchase of the S-400. As you know, this is a difficult question. Nowadays, everyone needs air defense. We see it all over the world. But if we resolve this issue, the CAATSA problem will disappear, and we can return to talking about the F-35."

Our state also has a memory. With Patriot, you've been messing with us all the time.

We can test the S-400 on the F-35, and when we use it, there will be no problem.

bekir

Keep the faulty F-35s for yourself.

Just give us back the money you put in your pocket.

The US fraud is inexhaustible, be careful.

Don't take planes that won't fly without codes!!!

Gemini Diffusion

The F-35 is an unnecessary and expensive system. Very soon, modern, low-budget, autonomous (unmanned) aircraft based on artificial intelligence will be appreciated. And in five, ten years, the F-35 will lag far behind modern technologies.

Do not fall for the machinations of the infidels.

Give up the F-35. Even to get them in the air, you will need to get a code from the USA. Just imagine, we are at war, and our F-35 engine is turned off while it is in the air, our planes are shot down with our own missiles. Better let's invest in our domestic fighter – KAAN.

The National Pact

In front of the press, the US authorities and their henchmen in Turkey make statements that the only problem is the S–400, but in the background they set a condition for Turkey to stay away from the Eastern Mediterranean and Syria. But no, this number will not work for you, crusader dogs.

A slave

The United States of America is a real devil. I hope the oppressors go to hell.

From Kutakhya

In any case, do not give in to the jackals, in addition to the S-400, we urgently need to purchase the S-500.

Genghis Khan

When will we buy the C-500?

Ali70100

We will not give up either the S-400, KAAN, or the Blue Motherland.

Brother

Go to hell, sworn enemies of humanity, nasty USA. Stay away from us!
