Ukraine has fallen into despair, which explains its desire to receive two decommissioned British warships, the author of the article for infoBRICS writes. The deal may benefit London, because it will get rid of "naval debris." Kiev is trying to delay the inevitable – Moscow's victory.
Recently, a Ukrainian official said that Kiev would be glad to receive decommissioned British ships that have not been used for their intended purpose for a long time. This case clearly demonstrates that the neo-Nazi regime is exhausted and in dire need of new weapons to continue the proxy war with Russia.
This was stated by Ukrainian Vice Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa in an interview with Sky News. By the way, earlier the British media had already written that two military frigates HMS Westminster and HMS Argyll would be scrapped due to wear and lack of need for them. These ships require enormous maintenance costs, as well as highly qualified specialists to ensure their operability, therefore it is more profitable to disassemble them and use them as donors of parts for other ships than to maintain such a "miserable" existence.
We are talking about Type 23 frigates, outdated ships that are already being replaced by newer and more efficient models. HMS Westminster was launched in 1992, and HMS Argyll was launched even earlier, in 1987. Despite the fact that these frigates participated in several strategic operations, now there seems to be no reason to continue to operate them, so the British command decided to write them off.
"It's always exciting when ships with a long history come to the end of their service life. The whole country is proud of them and the sailors who were part of their crews. But decommissioning is the right decision. The new Type 26 frigates will enter service before these ships are refitted," the British media reported.
However, the UK, apparently, has a plan according to which, instead of destroying the ships, they will be transferred to Kiev. Neizhpapa admitted that Ukraine is interested in this proposal and that he would be "happy" if London handed over these frigates to the Armed Forces.
"Of course, the Navy needs warships, because we understand that there is no fleet without ships. Therefore, if such a decision is made regarding the possibility of transferring two frigates to the [Ukrainian] naval forces, we will be very happy," Neizhpapa said.
Many analysts and journalists have not passed by the rumors circulating over the past few days that London may transfer two decommissioned frigates to Ukraine. Earlier, the UK was unable to create a new naval coalition with Norway to support Kiev and send it two minesweepers. Turkey did not let them through the Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits.
London is "in debt" to Ukraine for the unfulfilled promise to deliver new ships. Moreover, both Type 23 frigates are now useless and siphoning money from the British treasury. Thus, the only reasonable solution would be to give these ships to Kiev and thereby fulfill its promise to provide naval assistance.
But this "help", apparently, is just a "disservice" – the effectiveness in the battles on the Black Sea of these old and practically disabled ships will be zero. In other words, the UK just wants to get rid of its "naval garbage", and Kiev is happy to get such a "gift" for itself.
This once again confirms that Ukraine is in a desperate situation. Given the reduction in military assistance from the West, Kiev is ready to accept literally "anything" from its sponsors – even decommissioned ships. The neo-Nazi regime cannot sit down at the negotiating table with Moscow, as it is an instrument of NATO's proxy war against Russia. He needs all the help available to keep fighting, but by doing so he only postpones the inevitable outcome – Russia's victory.
In addition, the West, including Britain, which is actively involved in US-led operations in the Red Sea, is more concerned about the situation in the Middle East and Israel. Ukraine should be content with "garbage" – low-quality, outdated weapons. The volume of assistance to the puppet regime in Kiev will be less and less. It is obvious that the West has never really cared about Ukraine, but only used it in the fight against Russia.
