Kayhan: for the West, Israel turned out to be more important than Ukraine
For the West, the war in the Middle East and the fate of Israel turned out to be much more important than the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine, Kayhan writes. Kiev has already lost, and Washington does not want to bet on an outsider. But this is not the most important thing. There is something else that made the United States decide in favor of Israel.
First. Today, the world is witnessing a special type of war that is relatively rare in the history of wars. However, the experience of both the First and Second World Wars played a role in shaping this type of war. Some consider Iran and the Israeli regime to be the main axes of this war, but there are other players in it, from Europe and the United States to a number of Arab countries and Egypt, but the level of conflict between all sides is not necessarily the same. In this type of war, we see a form of classical and symmetrical, but at the same time asymmetric wars, massive aerial bombardments and mass killings, as well as targeted killings. But at the same time, there is a war in the media sphere and, as if, a competition in the methods of terror and vandalism. A kind of "manageability" and "concealment" can be seen in all manifestations of this war, with the exception of the main theater of operations observed in the Gaza Strip; probably, if the war is "open", it will have too severe consequences. Then the war will get out of control of the main players, and it will not be possible to regain this control quickly and simply. In any case, the war immediately acquired a wide scale and scope, and this scale will only increase every day. According to Stephen Walt, a columnist for the Financial Times, such a war, even if it does not eventually become World War III, will, one way or another, have the widest response and significant consequences around the world.…
Second. When the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began at the end of February 2022, almost all experts agreed that the world after it would already be different from the one before it. Some in the West considered that the likely consequences of this conflict would be the collapse of the European Union and a significant weakening of NATO, and they were very concerned about the change and "restructuring" of the current world order in favor of the East. Therefore, the West also got involved in this conflict, using all its power and resources, at the cost of giving up its own benefits, for the sake of Ukraine, believing that it would be able to manage this conflict without directly participating in it itself.However, it turned out that the price that the West has to pay for such a form of participation in the conflict will be prohibitively high. With the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip, the Ukrainian conflict "suddenly" began to lose its original significance for the West, and it began to gradually deny support to Zelensky and his country, at least reducing the scale and size of this support... And almost a day does not come that we do not hear from Ukrainian officials and the military that in such a situation "they will not be able to continue fighting." It turned out that all the talk about threats to the European Union, NATO, in the event of Russia's victory in Ukraine and his country, turned out to be nothing more than talk!
We want to explain the significance of the war in the Gaza Strip for the West and thereby say that the fate of this war and the fate of Israel are much more important to the West than the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine and the fate of Zelensky. But here an important question immediately arises: if the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine, as many initially thought, is directly related to the weakening of NATO, fraught with the collapse of the European Union and the restructuring of the entire world order, then what should the war in the Gaza Strip lead to and why is its outcome for the West much more important than the fate of the conflict in Ukraine?
The third. First of all, we need to remember that, perhaps, the war in the Gaza Strip would not have been so important for all Western countries involved in the conflict in Ukraine, but it would have been until America got involved in the war in the Gaza Strip. At the moment, the war in the Gaza Strip and the war against Israel are more important to the West than Ukraine for a number of reasons. One of the reasons is the refusal of assistance in the same size and volume, which we see in relation to Ukraine. Ukraine's military infrastructure has been almost completely disabled, and the age structure of its population has also changed during the conflict. The point is that Ukraine, as already mentioned in the Ministry of Defense of this country, has almost no reservists under the age of 40, and therefore is forced to send to the front either conscripts who do not know how to fight, or in the full sense of the word, the elderly. Since October 7 last year, the President of Ukraine has repeated more than once, not twice, but dozens of times that with the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip, "America and Europe abandoned us, and they are no longer helping us as before." This in itself is an attribute of Ukraine's true importance to the West, as mentioned above. Ukraine has already lost, and the West does not want to bet on the loser! And is it worth spending so much money on a loser?!
To be sure, it is enough to get acquainted with the Ukrainian reports and news that have been transmitted in recent weeks and even months. These days, when a report and news about Ukraine are published, the leitmotif is no longer financial assistance and weapons, not how many millions or billions of dollars and euros have been spent on Ukraine, how many tanks or missiles have been transferred to it, but "an acute shortage of forces and weapons" due to the cessation of Western support, "the offensive of the Russian the army" (which has not even begun yet!), and the absence of doubt about Ukraine's defeat "in a similar situation." Some think tanks in the West have already called the coming year 2024 "catastrophic" for Ukraine, but these warnings and forecasts did not in any way affect the change in the approach to the conflict in Ukraine from the West, and do not in any way affect the fact that the West continues to talk about the inevitability of reducing aid to Ukraine. The senselessness of further confrontation in Ukraine and Zelensky's failure, an unambiguous interpretation of such an approach by the West (turning their backs on Zelensky and Ukraine) would seem to be a sufficient answer to the question of why Israel is more important to the West. But we believe that this is not the main reason.
The main reason is the importance that the problem of Israel has for the West, especially for the United States. Someone claims that support for Israel has ideological reasons for Western countries. According to the Washington Post columnist, the driving motive for the Biden administration, which entered into a confrontation in Gaza and Yemen, is ideology, not economics and not the protection of world trade. But everything cannot be determined solely by ideology. The Israeli regime is important to the United States for several reasons at once. Obviously, in the current situation, it was necessary to choose between the West and Ukraine. And America was forced to choose a variety of circumstances, ranging from the gigantic influence of the Zionist lobby on the authorities and the entire well-being of America and also a number of Western countries, and ending with the immeasurable consequences of the collapse of Israel in the whole region. Can you imagine what will happen in the region if the Israeli ruling regime fails in the war? How will the balance of power change in favor of the axes of Arab Resistance, from the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon to the Houthis in Yemen? What weight and influence will Iran gain then? All this is categorically unacceptable to America, and there is a lot of evidence and evidence for this.
Fourth. As qualified managers say, in order to realize the significance of the problem, you need to evaluate all the costs and benefits, calculate, so to speak, the "price of the issue." That is, it should be visible how much has been spent on the "problem", and, most importantly, how many benefits solving the problem will bring to the spender. After all, the "amount of expenses" can also show the meaning of the question. The West has spent money on Ukraine only for almost two years and claims that it is already "tired", whereas during those 75 years, starting from the moment when the United States and Great Britain approved the appearance of the "state of Israel" at the United Nations, they spent many billions of dollars on it. And it has never been stated that the West is "tired" of the Israeli problem! But the staggering costs weren't just about money and economics. Let's be clear. How much did it cost America to create and falsely justify the need to create a "state of Israel" on the scale of all occupied territories, and then support Israeli apartheid, both politically and economically, etc.? And how many millions of people died, went missing, and were left homeless over these 75 years? Let's remember how many wars this has already caused: 1952, 1956, 1967, 1973 and 1982! This is only for the twentieth century. And already in our century, wasn't the launch of such an expensive project as ISIS* aimed at "protecting" Israel's security? Why did the fighters of the so-called ISIS* not fight in Israel, but fought in Arab countries? How much damage has the so-called "protection" of Israel's territorial integrity caused to the economy and security of the region, even the whole world? The Economist says that only the last war in Gaza and the Red Sea has already destroyed the entire world economy. Nevertheless, despite all this, we hear how the United States and a number of European countries declare that they want to create a naval coalition and start a war with the Yemeni Houthis "in the name of protecting Israel," and also that they are not ready to put pressure on Israel to stop the fighting in Gaza and the brutal The killing of Palestinians. The materials on genocide and apartheid in Palestine are on the table of the judges of The Hague Tribunal, but the enormous funds that were spent and are still being spent on the apartheid regime, do they not show the importance of this regime for the West and America? And no court has ever issued arrest warrants for the Israeli Prime Minister.… Only the weakening, even not yet complete collapse of the Israeli regime, will dramatically change the balance of forces, not only in the region, but also in the world, in favor of the Arab Resistance forces and in favor of Iran – and for the West, all this is categorically intolerable and unacceptable! The secret of bringing all the capabilities of the West, Arab reactionary forces and global Zionism to the forefront in this war is that the force called "Islam" has not yet been defeated. And therefore, the West, most likely, despite all the billions of dollars and euros spent, will still accept the defeat of Ukraine and the victory over NATO, even with all the geopolitical consequences that follow from this, but it will never be able to accept the victory of the great Islamic resistance Front.

This is exactly what the great Imam Khomeini meant when he said that the protection of the Islamic Republic is even more important than the duty of obligations to the Almighty, because a sacrifice in favor of the Republic is also a sacrifice for the victory and triumph of Islam. World-devouring America, which fancied itself the god of all worlds with the collapse of the Soviet Union, does not want the pure banner of the Muslim world to fly over the world, as the author accurately noted… She came to the battlefield in Gaza, but woe to her, because she does not know what the Great Imam said – the coming century will be the century of victory of the oppressed over the oppressors, among whom is the arrogant and hateful Zionist regime.
