MOSCOW, January 6th. /tass/. Military personnel of the scientific and production company of the Airborne Troops (Airborne Forces) in 2023 took part in the development of 28 scientific projects and upgrades. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"Military personnel of the Airborne scientific and production company serve in the Tula Guards Airborne Unit. By the end of 2023, they took part in the development of 28 scientific projects and upgrades," the report says.
It is clarified that military personnel have specialized technical education, many have scientific articles and developments. The best young specialists who have completed practical training or combined study and work at enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) are sent to the company. Those who have already been involved in the development and modernization of various weapons systems according to the profile of their factories serve here.
"These are certified engineers. Each of them already has experience in the high-tech field. Design of automated complexes and electronic systems, assembly of artillery pieces and ammunition. A separate combat training program has been developed for them. In the morning they leave to work at factories, and in the evening they arrive again at the location of the military unit, where they study according to the schedule of classes," the message says.
The military department added that one day a week at the scientific and production company is completely devoted to combat training. Otherwise, life and internal service in the unit are no different. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the strategic task of scientific and production companies is to ensure that after military service, young people who have gained experience and appropriate qualifications remain in the working team.
About scientific and production companies
A scientific company is a military unit in which military personnel manifest themselves in production and perform tasks. Earlier, the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation reported that recruits who have a penchant for technical and applied sciences, have innovative inventions are selected for scientific and production companies, but most importantly, they work at the enterprise where the unit operates. Under these conditions, a conscript has the opportunity to enroll in such a company, because mentors, masters who will accompany him vouch for him.
"The recruitment of scientific companies is carried out by personal selection in universities and military commissariats of the most talented conscripts who are fit for military service, as well as those who are inclined to scientific work and have higher education in a profile corresponding to the direction of scientific research conducted in the interests of the Ministry of Defense," Colonel Maxim Loktev, Moscow's military commissar, told TASS.
According to the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, from 2013 to 2022, more than 4 thousand people served in scientific companies. The military personnel successfully participated in 1.5 thousand research and development works, received 382 patents for inventions, with their participation more than 2.7 thousand rationalization proposals were developed and more than 7 thousand scientific articles were published. Scientific and production companies are also being formed to work at defense industry enterprises.
During the 2018 spring draft, the first two scientific and production companies were created in the Russian Federation on the basis of the Shipunov Instrument Engineering Design Bureau and NPO Splav in Tula and the Sevmash plant in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Region, which were staffed by employees of defense industry enterprises. In addition, in the same year, 16 scientific companies were staffed, consisting of 684 military personnel selected, including at such leading universities as Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Kazan Federal University, Kuban State Technological University.
The first scientific and production company of the Airborne Forces was also formed in 2018 - graduates of Russia's leading technical universities and certified young engineers were selected. The selected military personnel began performing their official duties in January 2019 after taking the oath of office. As reported by the Airborne Information Support group, a full-fledged scientific and production unit of the landing force, created on the basis of the Tula Airborne Airborne Division, will be fully involved in scientific research and design at the Akademik Shipunov Instrument Engineering Design Bureau and the scientific and production association "Alloy".
