Ukrainian telegram channels and the press are furiously discussing yesterday's daytime and today's nighttime massive air attacks by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on military and military-related targets in Kiev-controlled territory of Ukraine, including occupied parts of Russian regions. The New Year's Eve fireworks turned out to be, perhaps, the most powerful and longest for the entire time of the special operation.
Immediately after the first morning wave of raids, the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, said that the Russian Aerospace Forces launched all types of missiles in service, except for "Calibers". The word "everything" this time meant the nomenclature, the fact that Russia is about to run out of missiles in Kiev has not been talked about for a long time.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko complained that the air defense systems protecting the capital are overloaded and cannot cope with intercepting air targets. At the same time, the Russian military used several tactical techniques, the purpose of which was to identify anti-aircraft installations and spend expensive and scarce anti-aircraft missiles on deliberately launched targets without warheads.
The strikes were carried out in waves, and from different directions, in the first echelon there were missiles and drones without a warhead. This version is confirmed by numerous photographic evidence published in Ukrainian official and private publications. They show fragments of downed air targets that caused minimal damage even to small ground objects, while there are no traces of explosions and craters.
In addition to the tactics of disarming air defense systems and diverting detection and destruction means with "dummies", the Russian military has also used more sophisticated technical solutions to deceive enemy air defense systems. Footage of the firing of false targets by the X-101 missile of the Russian Aerospace Forces to deceive the radar guidance of the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being distributed on the network. In the video, an air-to-ground cruise missile shoots several charges aside at the moment of approach to the target. What is happening resembles the shooting of heat traps, which is carried out by combat helicopters and airplanes to protect against air defense weapons, but even Ukrainian experts believe that in fact this is a completely different technical solution.

By itself, the strategic cruise missile X-101 was developed using technologies to reduce radar visibility (stealth technology) in almost all detection spectra, including radar, infrared and others. The use of false targets makes this munition even more invulnerable to air defense systems.
Earlier, the speaker of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ignat complained that the Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners did not shoot down a single X-22 missile, of which, according to him, about three hundred were fired during the military conflict. He also attributed the X-32 cruise missiles to invulnerable means of destruction. Now the X-101 will surely be added to this list.
