Satellite Internet "Bureau 1440"
Engineers of the Russian space developer Bureau 1440, which is part of the X Holding, are going to start providing broadband satellite Internet access services in 2027.
According to Alexey Shelobokov, CEO of the group with the well-known name Yadro, which is also part of X Holding, initially about 250 satellites will be used for this, but their number will be increased to 700 units by 2030 and 900 by 2035. Yadro experts estimate the potential audience of satellite Internet closer to 2 million people, and around the world — about 12 million, while mentioning Elon Musk and his StarLink, which has already gained a million subscribers. The company also claims that an international launch will be required for the early payback of this project and talks about "high potential demand" for such services abroad.
Satellite Internet "Bureau 1440"
Recall that the first three devices of the Rassvet-1 model from Bureau 1440 went into target orbit at the end of June this year, and in July, the company's specialists reported on successful communication testing during which a data transfer rate of about 12 Mbit/s (in the future 100 Mbit/s) was shown with a delay ~41 ms. However, Bureau 1440 has a high probability of encountering certain problems when implementing its plans — Russian rocket launches are scheduled for at least 2-3 years, and there is also no heavy-class rocket capable of launching powerful satellites operating with mobile communications in low orbits.
