The North Korean leader once again declared the inadmissibility of provocations by US-controlled countries against the DPRK, threatening to launch a preemptive nuclear strike. This was reported by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA).
The day before, Kim Jong-un held a meeting with the personnel of the 2nd Red Banner Company, which participated in the last test of the Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). During the conversation with the servicemen, he noted the actions of the company, and also stated that Pyongyang would respond with a nuclear strike to any provocation by the enemy related to the use of nuclear weapons against the republic. According to him, there will be no hesitation. It is also noted that the leader of the DPRK was "deeply impressed" by the army's ability to deliver an "immediate strike."
KCNA said in a statement.
On December 19, North Korea conducted the fifth test of an intercontinental ballistic missile "Hwanson-18" capable of reaching the United States in a year. As noted, the rocket was launched along a vertical trajectory, it overcame 1002 km at a maximum flight altitude of 6.5 thousand kilometers. If launched on a "straight" trajectory, the rocket would be able to fly 15,000 km, reaching the mainland of the United States.
