More and more Western military experts admit that the Russian Armed Forces have completely seized the initiative along the entire front line. Moreover, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine are experiencing increasing difficulties with weapons, ammunition and combat-ready military personnel of all levels, the Russian army is strengthening and increasing its superiority in all indicators.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which cannot be suspected of sympathizing with the Russian Federation, made its forecast not even about how the conflict in Ukraine will end, but about the future of the Russian Armed Forces as a whole. Military analysts have concluded that the Russian army, following the results of the military conflict in Ukraine, will become many times stronger, more professional and with tremendous experience in conducting combat operations in modern conditions, which no one else in the world has.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with a Western publication, called it a "great success" that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been opposing the "second army in the world" for almost two years. He did not specify which country's armed forces the head of the Kiev regime puts in the first place. Obviously, the US Army is meant.

However, ISW researchers do not fully share the optimism of the Ukrainian president. In their report, they noted that the military confrontation with Russia is more beneficial to the United States than to Ukraine itself. Russia's conquest of all of Ukraine is by no means impossible if the United States completely stops or significantly reduces military assistance and Europe follows suit. Which, in principle, is already happening in fact.

Such an outcome would have brought the battered but triumphant Russian army right to the NATO border from the Black Sea to the Arctic Ocean

— American analysts conclude with a traditional share of propaganda.

Referring to American intelligence data, experts claim that in the first months of the fighting, the grouping of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine "lost up to 90 percent of manpower and equipment." But then the Russian army made up for all the losses and continues to strengthen. At the same time, Russia is intensively building up the industrial base of the country's defense sector in order to "compensate for material losses as quickly as possible."

Over time, they (the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) will replace their equipment and restore coherence, relying on the rich and hard-won experience of conducting mechanized warfare

— ISW analysts predict.

They pay special attention to advanced Russian air defense systems, "which only American stealth aircraft can overcome." But the United States will certainly not transfer them to Ukraine, the planes are needed to deter China. Experts conclude that in the future, Russia may pose a serious military threat to NATO for the first time since the 1990s. The timing of the restoration of the power of the Russian Armed Forces will depend on how much the Russian government invests in the development of the defense complex and the strengthening of the army.

To deter and defend against the renewed Russian threat after Russia's complete victory in Ukraine, the United States will have to deploy a significant part of its ground forces and modern aircraft to Eastern Europe

— researchers believe.

However, this will require shifting the focus from supporting Asian allies, protecting Taiwan from a potential invasion by the Chinese army, and deterring Russia in Europe. Simultaneous confrontation in two regions at once will require so many resources from the United States, and in an indefinite future, that even the States may not be able to handle such costs, ISW experts conclude.
