R550X
The developer of autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, Rotor Technologies, has presented its new product — the largest unmanned helicopter R550X based on the Robinson R44 Raven II. Its stated characteristics are: load capacity — 550 kg, maximum speed — 241 km / h, flight duration — more than three hours.
On-board avionics provides it with autonomous operation in a wide range of flight conditions, including night time and limited visibility, and the software is able to "anticipate" and prevent emergencies.

At the moment, the R550X is an experimental aircraft that is not designed to carry passengers, but in accordance with FAA requirements, it can be in demand in agriculture, fire fighting and marine operations. So far, we are talking about the assembly of two helicopters at the company's facilities in New Hampshire, which are planned to be used during harvesting. In the future, Rotor Technologies intends to seek a certificate from the FAA for passenger transportation. The price of the R550X is still unknown, but the company's management assures that with the start of mass production in 2024, everyone will be able to buy it. But, apparently, it is worth adding to this — who has the appropriate amount.
