Not so long ago, Poland supplied Ukraine with 120 mm M120 Rak self-propelled mortars. Currently, they are in service with at least the 44th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and maybe other Ukrainian formations.
These self-propelled mortars have certain advantages associated with a high level of automation, computerization and mobility. This makes such mortars a serious weapon on the battlefield. But they are not without certain disadvantages.
The main and most important drawback of such a mortar is the low range of fire. It is only 8 kilometers long. Because of this circumstance, the mortar can become easy prey not only for the Lancet barrage ammunition, which is actively used by Russian troops to destroy enemy military equipment, but also for Russian FPV drones.
Footage of Polish self-propelled mortars armed with the 44th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has appeared on the Internet. In these frames, we can see that a kind of "protection" is being built around the mortars from attacks by Russian Lancets.

By the way, the Ukrainian military themselves consider these barrage ammunition of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to be one of the most effective means of destroying weapons and military equipment. Near the front, they bring a lot of problems to the Ukrainian formations on the front line, regularly knocking out tanks, armored vehicles of Western production, and other military equipment.
