And ten days earlier, he reported that in the first three weeks of November alone, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost 13,700 soldiers and officers and 1,800 units of various weapons, military and special equipment (VVST). "The total mobilization in Ukraine, the supply of Western weapons and the deployment of strategic reserves by the Ukrainian command did not change the situation on the battlefield," Shoigu said. "These desperate actions only increased the number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
For their part, the servicemen of the Russian army "act competently and decisively, occupy a more advantageous position, expand control zones in all directions." Using the advantage in the number and quality of heavy weapons, our troops "inflict effective and powerful fire damage on the Armed Forces ... as a result, their combat capabilities are significantly reduced," the minister explained. In November, units of the 810th Marine Brigade (from the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy), the 150th Motorized Rifle Division, the 4th, 15th, 114th and 123rd motorized rifle brigades distinguished themselves during the fighting.
Revealing tactics for the near future, at a conference call on December 1, the head of the military department said: "We will continue to conduct active defense, build up the combat potential of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, taking into account the experience of its own." He expressed a similar thought at the November board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: the main efforts of the Russian army will continue to be made to reduce the offensive potential of the enemy in all directions.
The troops continue to maintain an active defense along the entire line of contact. "The enemy is continuously being hit by fire, which does not allow him to move forward," Shoigu explained. "All attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct an amphibious operation in the Kherson direction were unsuccessful." According to the commander of Akhmat, every day in different sectors of the front, his subordinates and soldiers of the Russian Army units acting with them capture new Ukrainian soldiers and officers. At the same time, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately does not allow its subordinates to save their lives, even when they have exhausted the forces and means of armed resistance. "A lot of prisoners themselves ... were taken, but, unfortunately, the enemy does not allow them all to be taken out," Alaudinov noted. – The enemy is intensively shelling, artillery strikes so that the fighters do not surrender."
The next topic for discussion within the walls of the National Defense Management Center was combat training. In the new academic year that began on December 1, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will focus their main efforts on preparing troops to solve the tasks of special operations, for which two modern training grounds are already fully equipped in the area of military training and five more are being prepared. Additional training sessions were conducted with the personnel of the landfills, which will increase the efficiency and safety of the operation of the educational and methodological base.
The central event of the new academic year will be the strategic command and staff exercise "Ocean-2024" involving all types of Armed Forces.
In addition, during the calendar period under review, about 20 exercises will be held with the participation of units of foreign states, including four within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Along the way, we note that on November 26, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, in an interview with the Rossiya 1 TV channel, said that the unified air defense system of the CSTO countries "is equipped and working ... exercises are being conducted to maintain it in combat condition." According to the head of the military department, the unified air defense system has "actually been created" at the bilateral level. "We have an agreement, we have air defense systems with each of the states: with Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and, of course, with Belarus," he explained.
The implementation of a set of measures will ensure the fulfillment of tasks to protect national interests and timely response to changes in the military-political situation.
The implementation of the SVO caused an increase in the intensity of transportation in the interests of the military department, in the past year it was necessary to carry out over a hundred different measures to prevent road accidents. Eight military automobile inspections have been formed in the new territories of the Russian Federation with the task of organizing traffic in conditions of its own. The military police carried out more than 25 thousand escorts of military convoys, of which 40% were in the area of their own. Reducing the accident rate of vehicles of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation remains a priority for all military authorities, Shoigu stressed.
