A new dual-purpose quadcopter with the name "Wind" was developed in St. Petersburg. In the future, it should replace Chinese drones purchased by volunteers in the Russian troops. This was announced by Vladislav Udaltsov, head of the laboratory of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Kotlin-Innovator company.
According to the developers, the "Wind" was developed as an alternative to Chinese drones, while it is a dual-use UAV. The quadcopter is a proprietary development of the company, it is designed for operations in the near zone. With a mass of 1.8 kg, it is capable of carrying 1 kg of payload. The drone has a noise-proof control channel and a folding design. The maximum speed is 78 km/h.
For reconnaissance, the "Wind" has a camera with a six-fold approximation and a 93-degree viewing angle on a gyro-stabilized suspension. For use as an attack drone, the drone has special places for mounting the reset system.
