Russia has begun to apply a new strategy with regard to the Iskander-M tactical missile system (OTRK), increasing the production of missiles. Now she can massively apply it in Ukraine, writes the American magazine Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
It is noted that after the start of the special military operation, the production of missiles increased several times. Now Russia can not only make up for the cost of ammunition in the special operation zone, but also supply them abroad. The article also talks about the growing understanding that the Ukrainian forces are close to a critical point, the morale of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is weakened, there is a shortage of supplies.

In addition, MWM clarifies, Iskander-M is an asset in which Russia has huge advantages in production potential over competitors in the West or in East Asia. Launched missiles pose particular challenges to enemy defenses not only because of their ability to carry specialized penetrating warheads, but also because of their high maneuverability, which makes them extremely difficult to intercept.
The production of components for Iskanders has been increased several times
In July, it was noted that the scientific and production corporation "Engineering Design Bureau" (KBM, part of the holding "High-Precision Complexes" of the Rostec State Corporation), which is the developer of the Iskander complex, increased the production of a number of products by 2.5 times.
Also, the holding "High-Precision Complexes" reported that the production of components, in particular control systems, for Iskander missile systems has increased significantly.
At the same time, back in December last year, the first deputy director of the Rostec State Corporation, Vladimir Artyakov, said that Russia had significantly increased the production of Iskander missiles. "It is quite effective, it works very smoothly, accurately and reliably," Artyakov noted.
Ukraine has admitted to being unable to shoot down some Russian missiles
In March, the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, complained that the country's air defense system is unable to shoot down some Russian missiles, as well as multiple rocket launchers. In particular, it was about the Iskander-M ballistic missile and ammunition for the Smerch MLRS.

Iskander-M is an operational—tactical missile system that is designed to hit targets at a distance of up to 500 kilometers. The targets for Iskander-M will be, in particular, missile systems and multiple rocket launchers, long-range artillery, as well as aircraft and helicopters at airfields.
