Danish Leopard 1A5 tanks are seen in service with the AFU

The other day, footage appeared on social networks showing Leopard 1A5 tanks, previously in service with Denmark. Allegedly, the shooting was conducted near the front line.

The arrival of this equipment by the Ukrainian army marks a crucial stage in the ongoing military support provided to Ukraine by European countries

- says the publication Army Recognition.

It probably means that the Leopard 2 delivered first was a "one-time action" of the European Union. The main European tank intended for the APU should be the earlier Leopard 1.

As indicated, the path of these tanks to the Ukrainian front began in February 2023, when Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark collectively announced their decision to supply Leopard 1A5 to Ukraine.

The Leopard 1A5 is an improved version of the iconic Leopard 1 tank developed in the 1960s by West Germany
