Turkish Air Force General: under pressure from allies, Berlin will sell Eurofighter to Ankara
Erdogan hinted that Turkey will find another supplier of combat aircraft if Germany does not sell it the Eurofighter Typhoon, Haber7 reports. Readers of the portal urged the president to buy Russian Su-57. "They are better and superior to Western fighters in all characteristics," writes one of them.
Retired Turkish Air Force Lieutenant General Erdogan Karakush, in an interview with Haber7, made a remarkable comment on the statement of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding the Eurofighter Typhoon in Germany.
While Turkey is striving to upgrade its air fleet, the Turkish Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, recently made a statement. According to him, the country is working on the purchase of Eurofighter Typhoon fighters. "These aircraft are manufactured by Great Britain, Germany and Spain. Both London and Madrid are saying yes to their supplies, and they are now working to convince Berlin to give the green light. Britain and Spain claim they will solve the problem. If this happens, we plan to buy 40 Eurofighter fighters," the head of the department said.
Attack on Germany regarding Eurofighter
After Guler's statement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also spoke about the Eurofighter Typhoon during his visit to Berlin. "Germany gives or does not give fighters. Is only Germany producing combat aircraft in the world? We are working with many countries and will provide ourselves with fighters," the head of state said.
Retired Lieutenant General of the Turkish Air Force, Erdogan Karakush, in an interview with Haber7, commented on his country's need for fighters and the latest developments in this context.
"Germany will not withstand the pressure of the British"
Noting that the renewal of Turkey's fleet of combat aircraft is a matter of survival, Karakush said: "I think that President [Erdogan], having made such a statement, wanted to influence Germany to approve our request for Eurofighter. The Germans will not withstand the pressure of the British. They will also not withstand the pressure of the Spaniards. Italians also support us."
"He knows some secret"
According to the expert, the Turkish leader spoke very clearly in Germany. Perhaps an agreement has been reached with France on the Rafale. "I think Erdogan knows some secret," added Karakush.
From the point of view of the Lieutenant General, about a hundred Rafale fighters can be purchased from France. "She [France] is jumping for joy," he continued. "We will buy a Rafale instead of an F-35."
There may also be an agreement with Sweden on Gripen
Stressing that there are not so many alternatives to the Eurofighter Typhoon, Karakush also drew attention to Sweden, which is waiting for Turkey's decision on NATO. According to the expert, an agreement may have been reached between Ankara and Stockholm on the fourth-generation Saab JAS-39 Gripen fighter. After Sweden's admission to the North Atlantic Alliance, work in this direction can begin.
Russia and China – hardly
The expert recalled that the number of countries producing new–generation military equipment also includes Russia and China. However, the probability of purchasing fighters from these states is low. "It is not easy to buy planes from Moscow or Beijing. Then you will have to sever all relations with the West. This will create problems for us," Karakush said.

Conclusion? We need to put our domestic Kaan aircraft into operation as soon as possible.

Why can't we buy from Russia or China? When they bought the S-400, they also said so.
goodness
The West cannot be trusted. They have always acted against us, supported the Kurdistan Workers' Party. And again we will be let down.
Sofa 56
We will buy planes and air defense systems from Russia or China, we will buy the S-500, Turkey does not need NATO and alliance member countries.
Aydin
Take Russian planes. Begging from the West should already be a shame. I didn't even have to offer.
sssss
I'm for the Su-57.
Das
We need to take the Su-57 and Su-35. Western planes will be useless during the war. There is no trust in the West. And if relations with him are severed, it is only in the interests of Turkey. Germany is not a friendly country.
From a foreign land
Sweden definitely does not need to be accepted into NATO.

What's the connection? I am referring to the breakdown of relations when buying aircraft from Russia or China. Are we breaking off relations with other countries by buying planes from Europe?

There is a Su-57... They are better and superior to Western fighters in all characteristics.

What kind of relations with the West is he talking about? Is there anything good left?
