In China, in the interests of the Navy, a new KJ-600 AWACS aircraft is being developed, which is planned to be operated from the deck of aircraft carriers.
- says the publication Zona Militar.
As indicated, the KJ-600 "flying radar" looks very similar in layout to the US Navy's E-2 Hawkeye. It has a highly positioned and straight wing, is equipped with two turboprop engines and a tail unit topped with four vertical stabilizers.
To date, there is little data on its capabilities in terms of built-in radars and equipment. It is assumed that the aircraft is equipped with an AFAR radar, which is installed in the upper part of the fuselage in the fairing. At least since August 2020, when the car was spotted in the sky, its flight tests have been conducted.

Judging by the new images posted online, the test flights are continuing. However, neither the Chinese pro-government media nor the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China provided any information that would allow them to find out the details of the implementation of the program.
- it is noted in the publication.
