New Delhi has approved the first investment project in the country's history in the defense sector, fully funded by foreign capital: the Swedish company Saab invests 100% of funds in the creation of a plant for the production of the latest generation Carl-Gustaf M4 RPG.
As indicated in the Times of India, previously such preferences were not given to anyone. So, in 2016, the French shipbuilding company DCNS tried to create a division in India to develop advanced means of increasing the combat stability of submarines, but was refused. In this regard, Saab has become a pioneer in the local market.
The Swedish company's website notes that RPG production in India is scheduled to launch in 2024. The M4 model is the latest modification of the Carl-Gustaf hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher [the basic version was created in 1948]. It is capable of firing various types of ammunition.
For example, the HEDP 502 is a feathered OFS optimized for conducting combat operations in populated areas. It is just as effective against armored vehicles as it is against the enemy who is holed up in a shelter. MT 756 allows you to neutralize the enemy inside the building or behind the structure. It is also powerful enough to destroy light armored vehicles. The jet HEAT 551 allows soldiers to hit most armored vehicles and MBT in a side or rear projection.
- the company says.
According to the manufacturer, the RPG does not require a scrupulous attitude towards itself, since it has extreme durability.
