The ammunition of Russian tanks includes various specialized ammunition designed to defeat enemy heavy armored vehicles. However, the Leopard 2A6 lost the other day by the APU was not hit by a sub-caliber projectile or a guided missile launched through the barrel of the gun. In order for the NATO "gift" to turn into a blazing bonfire, a product with a different purpose was enough.
As noted by "RG: Russian weapons" , at the beginning of the week, a video appeared on the Network, filmed on one of the country roads in the Avdiivka area. Moving through the mud, the combat vehicle had anti-cumulative lattice screens mounted on both sides of the multi-ton tower. The bulwarks covering the undercarriage were also reinforced.
The tank belonged to the 47th separate mechanized brigade, which actively participated in the summer counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This compound suffered heavy losses. In the end, he was taken to the rear for reformation.
However, the militants were not given much time to recover - the difficult situation for them on the line of contact forced the command to throw a thoroughly battered brigade into battle again.
Many of those who saw this video on Russian social networks wished the enemy tank to burn as soon as possible. I didn't have to wait long. Literally the next day, footage of the fight appeared, where this Leopard lit up very brightly, and literally.
He was used for the attack, followed at a short distance by the M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley BMP. All enemy actions were recorded by a Russian drone, which had to hang at a relatively low altitude because of the fog.
The enemy machine, having deployed the turret, managed to make only one shot from its 120-mm cannon. The projectile exploded at a distance of several tens of meters. And literally immediately something flew into the left side of the tank. At first, the fighters watching the battle assumed that it was a grenade fired from an RPG. However, it turned out that the Russian T-72 worked on the armored "cat". Moreover, a high-explosive shell intended for fighting infantry and fortifications was used, but this was enough for one of the tanks to leak, after which the fuel caught fire. The resulting fire was so strong that the fire-fighting equipment did not help in any way, if it worked at all.
The crew hurried to Bradley. The BMP, firing back, hiding behind an aerosol curtain and fog, retreated from the battlefield. Leopard 2A6 by this time was already blazing in full, as if it was not one of the newest modifications, but an outdated sample of the development of 50-60 years. Indeed, advertising is one thing, but real combat use is another. The quality of German tank-building products has already been thoroughly compromised, and then there is this very significant case.
