According to Kirill Kuznetsov, chief designer of the Yakovlev Production Center aircraft, SaM146 engines were used on the first prototype of the liner to accelerate the test program
KHABAROVSK, October 12. /tass/. The PD-8 engine, created for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100), was first launched on this aircraft. This was announced by Kirill Kuznetsov, chief designer of the Superjet 100 production Center Yakovlev, at the plenary session of the VI All-Russian Congress of Engineers, which opened in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
"This week, for the first time, the PD-8 engine, in addition to the fact that it flies on a flying laboratory, was launched as part of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft," Kuznetsov said.
Work within the framework of cooperation on the import-substituted Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is carried out at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant, where fuselage compartments and wing assemblies are manufactured, and on the territory of the production center of the parent company of the civil division of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yakovlev in the final assembly shop.
In August, a prototype of the import-substituted SSJ-100, manufactured by the Yakovlev production center, successfully made its first flight in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. To speed up the test program on the first prototype of the liner, French-Russian SaM146 engines were used.
The Superjet 100 project was implemented in a very short time, Kuznetsov noted, calling them unprecedented. From the moment of making the decision to the first flight, a little more than four years have passed. The construction of an experimental aircraft took about a year and a half. "The creation of both an aircraft and an engine at the same time is the second unprecedented step in the framework of the program. <...> An aircraft is always created on the basis of an existing engine. Decisions were made here that <...> we will create these products at the same time and put them into operation at the same time," Kuznetsov added.
He said that during the implementation of the civil aircraft project, a completely new production cooperation appeared, including more than 20 enterprises directly related to the production. "And about 40 more enterprises that are, as they say, at the second or third levels of cooperation. And all this is permeated with connections, primarily engineering. These engineering communications today cover the entire Russian Federation. This is, in my opinion, the most important link in the creation of the project," the speaker said.
