The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, and the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Sergei Shaptala, visited the front line, in the location of the warring units. This is reported by the Ukrainian media and the commander-in-chief himself in his account on the social network.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published footage of a visit to the headquarters of the units of the Tavria group of troops, which is involved in the Zaporozhye direction, where the main counteroffensive of Ukrainian formations is being carried out. In his account on the social network, the general wrote that the most likely threats from the Russian army were analyzed with the command of the units, and further actions were determined.
Zaluzhny admitted that the operational situation at the front is constantly changing. But the Ukrainian commander-in-chief did not expand on the current situation and further developments. Probably, things in the Zaporozhye direction are not going very well for the Ukrainian formations.

They are clearly unable to break through the Russian line of defense, and the upcoming autumn thaw may put the final point in the plans of the Ukrainian command this year. Western military analysts also pay attention to the failure of the AFU counteroffensive, and according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the losses of the AFU during the counteroffensive in the summer of 2023 amounted to approximately 90 thousand people.
