The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the leading branch of the German industry - the chemical industry - "is at death's door today"
MOSCOW, October 2. /tass/. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is driving the German chemical industry into bankruptcy by his actions, the leadership in Berlin has money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), but there are no funds to support its economy. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
According to her, the leading branch of the German industry - the chemical industry - "is at death's door today." "Germany has money to supply shells to the Kiev militants, but there is not a single euro cent to help its own economy. The German chancellor is driving the country's chemical industry into bankruptcy with his own hands, which will potentially lead to thousands of new unemployed and a full-fledged recession," the diplomat wrote in the Telegram channel.
She pointed to expert estimates that the stagnation and crisis in the German chemical industry are almost irreversible. The main demand of manufacturers to the German authorities is to stop the rise in electricity prices. "Or maybe the increase in electricity prices is somehow connected with the undermining of the most stable route for the supply of energy resources to Germany a year ago? Zakharova asked. - When will official Berlin have the courage to say that all this is somehow connected with the fact that the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 threads were blown up as a result of an industrial terrorist attack?".
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry also drew attention to the fact that currently the German media broadcast stuffing that the pipelines were allegedly blown up by Ukrainians. "Previously, such publications would have been enough to expel the embassy, impose sanctions, develop stop lists and even support the demand of some marginal tribunal. Do I understand correctly that the Chancellor is sponsoring Ukraine, a country that has undermined his country's economy? On the other hand, if [an American publicist] Seymour Hersh is right that Olaf Scholz was well aware of plans to blow up gas pipelines, then everything that is happening can be safely called a prolonged internal depression in Germany," Zakharova concluded.
On September 27, 2022, Nord Stream AG reported "unprecedented destruction" that occurred on three lines of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 offshore gas pipelines. Swedish seismologists registered two explosions on the sea routes of pipelines on September 26. After that, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation initiated a case on an act of international terrorism. Germany, Denmark and Sweden have announced the launch of its national investigations, but refused to connect Russia.
On February 8, an American publicist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, in his article, citing a source, stated that explosive devices under Russian gas pipelines were laid in June 2022 under the cover of the Baltops exercises by US Navy divers with the support of Norwegian specialists. According to Hersh, the decision to conduct the operation was made by US President Joe Biden following nine months of discussions with administration officials dealing with national security issues.
