Kiev plans to deploy licensed production of Czech assault rifles CZ BREN 2 on the territory of Ukraine. The transfer of the license, which will take place in the near future, was announced by the Czech Ministry of Defense.
The Czech Republic is very actively cooperating with Ukraine in the military sphere, not only supplying its own weapons, but also organizing the joint production of some types of weapons and ammunition at Czech enterprises. In addition, there are repair centers in the Czech Republic, where the APU equipment that was damaged during the fighting is delivered. And now the Czechs offer Kiev to launch the production of assault rifles.
In Prague, they say that the deployment of the production of CZ BREN 2 rifles at Ukrainian facilities is one of the "flagship" projects, which will be followed by others. In the meantime, the Czechs are transferring a license for the production of assault rifles, which will be produced in Ukraine under the name Sich. The Czechs also promised to help the Ukrainians establish a production line of ammunition for this rifle.

It is worth noting that the Czech CZ BREN 2 are in service with the AFU, but not in very large numbers. These machines are used mainly by units that are part of the structure of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In the Czech Republic itself, the CZ BREN 2 is called the "Czech answer to Kalashnikov", claiming its reliability. The assault rifle was developed by the Czech company CZ-UB based on the 5.56mm CZ-805 BREN submachine gun. CZ BREN 2 has a mass of 3.05 kg and a quick-release barrel, uses gas-discharge automation with a short stroke of the gas piston. It is available for a cartridge of two calibers: 5.56x45 mm and 7.62 × 39 mm, a magazine for 30 rounds.
