Chairman of the Board of Directors of USC Andrey Kostin and CEO of USC Andrey Puchkov discussed the corporation's production programs with the management of St. Petersburg enterprises.
The rehabilitation of the USC shipyards will begin with a detailed analysis of each company, Kostin said.
Andrey Puchkov, in turn, noted that St. Petersburg enterprises "have enough reserves to increase efficiency" and USC intends to "develop measures to bring them to the modern level of technological development."
"And, what is especially important, to ensure competitiveness. I will continue to personally assess the progress of modernization of enterprises, their production and financial indicators, and, of course, relations with customers," the elected CEO of the shipbuilding corporation assured.
The General Director of the Baltic Plant Yuri Gordienkov presented the main production facilities, and also spoke about the construction of the third serial nuclear icebreaker "Yakutia" project 22220. The plans for the development of the Proletarian plant in the production workshops were presented by the general director Mikhail Ispolov, at the Admiralty shipyards, together with the general director of the enterprise Andrey Veselov, the USC management answered questions.
The first visiting groups of auditors arrived in St. Petersburg and began auditing the largest production assets of USC in the city last week, three knowledgeable sources told DP. At the same time, earlier USC allowed the relocation of some employees to Moscow and staff optimization.
Auditors study the financial flows of shipyards, while paying special attention to contracts for the construction of civil vessels. Each group consists of about 10 people. Auditors are also studying modernization projects of St. Petersburg shipyards.
In August 2023, USC was placed under the management of VTB for 5 years. The reason was unprofitable contracts for the construction of a fishing fleet, which not only did not give impetus to the development of the state corporation's shipyards, but plunged them into losses.
Shortly after that, Georgy Poltavchenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "USC", and his CEO Alexey Rakhmanov left the post. Their chairs were occupied by the head of VTB Andrey Kostin and the former deputy chairman of the board Andrey Puchkov, respectively.
The federal authorities expect a long-term stabilization of the financial condition of USC and its entry into profit.
