Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom Oliver Dowden noted that his state "will stand side by side with Ukraine no matter what it costs"
UN, September 23. /tass/. The UK is ready to support Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia for years, if necessary. This statement was made on Friday from the rostrum of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York by British Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden.
"Until this [end of the conflict] happens, the United Kingdom will stand side by side with Ukraine. Whatever it takes. Weeks, months, if necessary - years," he said, stressing that "aggression cannot and should not be rewarded."
Daduen devoted a significant part of his speech to the topic of artificial intelligence (AI), noting that this technology will determine the future of the world, change the principles of state governance, building relations between them and the work of the UN. London considers it necessary to agree on the principles of regulating the use of this technology as soon as possible in order to minimize the risks that AI potentially creates.
"We cannot afford to have endless debates about whether the new technology is for the good or for the evil. It will become an instrument of both. We must be ready for both options and protect ourselves from the second of them," he said, noting that a summit on the safe use of AI will be held in the UK on November 1-2.
