On Friday, September 22, the Navy struck the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol. Five missiles were shot down by air defense, another damaged a historic building, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The ammunition was knocked out on approach, and its warhead crashed directly into the building, which eventually did not explode, sources told Izvestia. Nevertheless, as a result of the missile strike, one serviceman was missing. Experts are sure that the military of NATO countries participated in the preparation of the attack, providing all the data necessary for its implementation.
Answer for Sevastopol
The Kiev regime launched a missile attack on Sevastopol on September 22, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. Reflecting it, air defense means shot down five missiles.
— As a result of the attack, the historical building of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet was damaged, — the Russian military department clarified.

The headquarters building was assessed within a radius of two blocks — a fire started in it. All operational services went to the place. An operational headquarters has been set up at the scene of the emergency. An airmobile group was brought into readiness, backup equipment was introduced. Car traffic was temporarily restricted in the city center.
Mikhail Razvozhaev also said that the civilian infrastructure around the fleet headquarters was not seriously damaged, and the people who were on the street at the time of the strike, too. The damage was minimal: the shock wave knocked out windows in ten residential buildings in the city center.
As sources familiar with the situation told Izvestia, the rocket was shot down on approach to the headquarters — its head part fell on the building. According to them, there was no explosion of the warhead. Our interlocutors also noted that at the time of the strike, an American P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft was flying over Romania.

In general, the situation in Sevastopol remained calm after the strike. Shops, public transport, as well as private and municipal institutions continued to operate.
Military personnel from Western countries participated in the preparation of the strike, military expert Vasily Dandykin is sure.
"Their intelligence was involved in the planning," he told Izvestia. — They were collected by American strategic reconnaissance UAVs, Poseidon aircraft, and the capabilities of the satellite grouping were also involved. Now our air defense has worked for 80%. It is necessary to draw conclusions and achieve efficiency improvement. The strike was carried out with the help of Western air-based missiles. Therefore, another of our tasks is to destroy the carriers of these cruise missiles. These are Ukrainian Su-24 bombers, there are not many of them left, we shot down one recently.

The headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet is a sacred and historical place: it was built after the war, in which we defeated fascist Germany, the expert recalled.
— When the Ukrainian Navy was based in the hero city of Sevastopol, they wanted to settle there, but they were sent to the former school of ensigns of the construction troops of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, - said Dandykin.
He also recalled that since the beginning of its headquarters has been attacked twice already.
"This is another attempt to cause panic among Sevastopol residents and sailors," he said. — But she failed. People were not afraid, and the building will be restored soon. And they will definitely answer for Sevastopol. The first retaliatory strikes were carried out in a few hours in Kharkiv and Kiev.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, units of the Center group of troops repulsed two attacks by assault groups in the areas of the settlement of Grigorovka in the DPR and Serebryansky forestry.
Clusters of enemy manpower and equipment in the areas of Workino and Verbovoye in the Zaporozhye region were defeated in the Zaporozhye direction.
In the South Donets direction, units of the Vostok group of troops defeated accumulations of manpower and equipment of the VFU in the areas of the settlements of Elizavetovka, Staromayorskoye, Novodonetsky in the DPR. In the area of the Green Guy, the ammunition depot of the 1st tank Brigade of the VFU was hit.

In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Western Group of troops inflicted a fire defeat on the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Artemovka in the LPR, Sinkovka, Berestove and Ivanovka, Kharkiv region.
In these areas, the enemy lost over 400 fighters and 40 pieces of equipment, including two Leopard tanks, Krab and Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled guns, a Rapier anti-tank gun, two M777 artillery systems and AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar.

The fighters of the "Wolves" brigade are active at night in the area of Artemovsk. Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin visited the positions and looked at their work. The journalists had to get there in pitch darkness.

Destroyed radars
In just a day in the special operation zone, our troops destroyed up to 490 VFU fighters and 48 pieces of equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns, armored vehicles.
In the Kharkiv region, the ammunition depot of the Theroborona brigade was hit. Three radar stations for detecting and tracking aerial targets P-18, ST-68 and PRV-16 were destroyed in Kherson.
Five command posts of the 24th, 28th and 67th mechanized brigades, the 100th Defense Brigade and the 15th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine were defeated in the DPR.
In addition, Russian air defense systems shot down 10 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured by the United States and 15 Ukrainian UAVs.
