The Australian company Electro Optic Systems intends to supply a total of 160 Slinger anti-aircraft systems designed to combat drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
110 anti–aircraft guns will be installed on the M113 APC, and another 50 on Bushmaster armored vehicles. At the same time, the company previously offered Slinger for its customers usually on the GMC Denali 2500HD pickup platform. First, the anti-aircraft guns will arrive in the United States, where they will be installed on the chassis, and then they will go to Ukraine.
- it says on the company's website.
The weight of the system is less than 400 kg. The Bushmaster M230LF 30x113 mm cannon with a firing rate of about 200 shells per minute, combined with a 7.62 mm MAG58 machine gun with a rate of fire from 650 to 1000 rounds per minute, acts as a means of destruction.
The Slinger uses 30 mm ammunition equipped with a radio-frequency contactless fuse and a high-explosive fragmentation projectile. The system also includes an Echodyne 4D guidance radar, a wind sensor to improve accuracy, a daytime camera (with a detection range of over 12 thousand meters) and a thermal imager (more than 13.7 thousand meters). As indicated, it provides stable shooting with a deviation of less than 1 milliradian.
