The next attacks of the armed formations of Ukraine were repulsed on September 8 in the area of the village of Verbovoye, Zaporozhye region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. Here they lost up to 40 servicemen. According to experts, Ukrainian militants cannot advance in the Zaporozhye direction, although they are throwing all available forces forward. At the same time, Russian troops in the Kupyansk direction improved their position on the front edge.
Battles near Verbov
In the Zaporozhye direction, five counterattacks of the VFU were repulsed in the area of the village of Verbovoye, reported on September 8.
Russian troops are confidently holding positions, and the VFU cannot advance in this direction, although they are throwing all available forces forward, military expert Vasily Shurygin told Izvestia. According to him, this is very important for them, because there is less and less time to achieve something during the counteroffensive.

— Verbovoye, Kleshcheyevka, Rabodino, Crop — these are the main points where Ukraine throws all the forces that it has. It is important to note that the work, which they call almost a key point, — they have been coming there for 90 days. During this time they walked 9 km. This means that the average rate of attack is less than 100 m per day. At the same time, the losses they incur — about 100 people a day — indicate that they give a person for every square meter. And when they report that they have almost broken through the Russian defense, for some reason they do not mention the Job, which they have not yet taken. Tokmak, which is the target of their offensive, is still 22 km away.
During the day, the VFU lost up to 40 servicemen in this direction, a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, three cars, two M777 artillery systems, an FH-70 gun, Msta-B, D-20 and D-30 howitzers, an Acacia self-propelled artillery unit, a Grad MLRS combat vehicle, as well as the station of electronic warfare with the Bukovel-AD UAV, was listed in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Attacks are repelled
During the day, Russian troops continued to repel the attacks of the VFU in the Donetsk, Yuzhnodonetsky, Krasnolimansky and Kupyansk directions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on September 8.
In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Group of troops repelled 12 attacks by units of the VFU, as well as the 241st Brigade of the Defense in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Artemovsk, Orekhovo-Vasilevka and Veseloye in the DPR.
In addition, in the area of Avdiivka in the DPR, the command and observation post of the 110th mechanized brigade of the VFU was destroyed.

In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Western Grouping of troops improved the situation along the front edge, and also repelled three attacks by the VFU brigade near the settlement of Novoegorovka, Kharkiv region.
In the Krasnolimansky direction, the group of troops "Center" repulsed two attacks by the VFU assault groups in the area of the settlement of Chervonaya Dibrova in the LPR.
In addition, fire damage was inflicted on units of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade and the 21st mechanized brigade of the VFU.
In the South Donets direction, units of the Vostok group of troops repelled an attack by an assault group of the 38th mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian forces.
The field ammunition depot of the VFU unit was also destroyed.
In these areas, the enemy lost over 600 militants and 42 pieces of equipment, including a tank, an FH-70 gun, two electronic warfare stations with the Bukovel-AD UAV, as well as four M777 artillery systems and an anti-tank Rapier gun.
Homemade weapon
The Marines of the 155th Brigade of the Pacific Fleet have developed and created an unusual gun, now the "support" of the VFU is being fired from a paired 30-millimeter cannon. The military correspondent of Izvestia, Leonid Kitrar, showed what the MT-LB land military vehicle with an artillery ship tower in the special operation zone is capable of.
— Such a machine could only have been born in the Marine Corps. This MT-LB (multi-purpose light armored tractor transporter) is absolutely land—based equipment, well, a gun is installed on top, which is called the 2M-3M — a 30-millimeter paired automatic naval artillery installation. Now she is fighting in the Marine Corps," the correspondent said.

The MT-LB driver with the call sign Zaton said that the idea to combine a naval gun with an all-terrain vehicle appeared already during the special operation. Since the use of "water cannons" is impossible, because of the speed of the aircraft, our servicemen decided to use them for ground purposes.
According to the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Ural, they work with a gun mainly on enemy strongholds.
— The gun works with two barrels. Its range is from 3.5 to 4 km. We are working to increase the range," the fighter summed up.
In terms of firepower, the car is actually equal to two BMP-2s. And a full ammunition can mow down a forest belt or turn any building into ruins. At a range of 3-4 km, mortars were mainly used before, so each salvo is a surprise for the enemy.
— You can't shoot mines from the forest belt. We have to take out positions from under the vegetation. Unlike heavy guns, it is very difficult to hide a mortar in a forest belt, although it is partially the rear part. But nevertheless, the position of the mortar is in a semi-open area. Of course, it is camouflaged, but if necessary, the branches recline and you can immediately fire," the correspondent explained.
Self-propelled anti-aircraft guns have no such problems. Immediately after the shot, the car can quickly leave. And 30-millimeter shells are capable of covering infantry, and sometimes even tank units.
Terrorist attack
On the evening of September 7, Russian servicemen stopped an attempt by the Kiev regime to attack Russian facilities with the help of an airplane-type UAV. Two unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted over Bryansk by air defense systems on duty, one of them was destroyed in the air.

During the day in the special operation zone, our troops destroyed up to 630 VFU fighters and 46 pieces of equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles.
In the Zaporozhye region, the radar station for detecting and tracking low-altitude targets ST-68U was destroyed.
In the DPR, command and observation posts of units of the 63rd mechanized brigade of the VFU and the 100th Theroborona brigade were hit.
Russian air defense systems shot down four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 31 Ukrainian UAVs.
