Pentagon: the United States allocates a new package of military assistance to Ukraine for $ 600 million
The United States will provide Ukraine with a new $600 million military aid package. This was announced on September 7 by Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh at a briefing.
According to her, the package includes equipment to strengthen air defense (air defense), as well as artillery ammunition.
In addition, the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said on her page in the social network X (ex. Twitter) that Washington will hand over another 190 armored vehicles that meet the MRAP standard, providing mine protection.
The day before, the Pentagon reported that the United States will transfer depleted uranium shells for Abrams tanks to Ukraine as part of a new $175 million package of military assistance to Kiev.
As Igor Nikulin, a member of the UN Commission on Chemical and Biological weapons from 1998 to 2003, noted in a conversation with Izvestia, by providing Kiev with depleted uranium shells, Washington wants to make uninhabitable part of the country's territory that they consider lost — Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. According to him, such a strategy is a characteristic Anglo-Saxon practice.
Western countries have increased military and financial support for Kiev against the background of the Russian Federation's special operation to protect Donbass, the decision on which was made after the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
