In the Zaporozhye direction, soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed a British Challenger 2 heavy tank. The corresponding footage was published on the Internet by Russian military correspondents.
Thus, the Russian Armed Forces became the first army in the world to destroy the British Challenger tank. Previously, the destruction of such tanks was not reported, however, the British army has been fighting only against obviously weaker opponents in recent decades.
The Challenger tank, shot down in the Zaporozhye direction, probably belonged to the last reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in this sector of the front. Due to the high losses of the Ukrainian army in personnel and equipment, earlier the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to throw into battle the last reserve forces, including the 82nd separate airborne assault brigade.

However, the involvement of reserve brigades did not really help the Ukrainian counteroffensive. But the Russian army has gained invaluable experience in destroying the British Challenger heavy tank.

It is possible that now London is already regretting the transfer of its tanks to the Ukrainian regime, as the cases of Challenger destruction at the front will become more frequent and will not affect the image of British military equipment in the best way.
