As indicated, the overall layout of the new BTR-82A is similar to the previous version with a driver and commander in front, infantrymen in the middle and an engine in the rear. The vehicle can carry up to 10 military personnel. The 8x8 wheel independent suspension is powered by a KamAZ-740 diesel engine with a capacity of 300 hp. It allows you to reach a maximum speed on the road of 80 km / h with a maximum range of 800 km. The machine is capable of overcoming water obstacles by swimming at a maximum speed of 9 km/h [subject to the dismantling of protective and lattice screens].
The standard equipment of the new BTR-82A includes a new gunner's sight with an IR system, a laser rangefinder and independent stabilization of the line of sight in two planes.
Like the previous BTR-82A, it is equipped with an improved fire extinguishing system, an updated radio station R-168-25- U2, night vision devices and the Tron-1 topographic orientation system (works in conjunction with GPS and GLONASS).
