Reznikov demanded that companies from Poland return money for military orders
Polish companies must return money to Kiev for unfulfilled military orders. This opinion was expressed on August 29 by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.
In an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, he explained that some manufacturers of military equipment could not satisfy Kiev's requests. In particular, Reznikov mentioned Alfa.
"This company offered us other types of shells, we are now studying whether they are suitable for us. And then they will either deliver them to us, or we will demand a refund," he said.
The minister added that the defense ministry is also suing some other foreign partners who have not fulfilled their supply obligations.
On the eve of the Financial Times newspaper reported that Western countries are seeking to supply outdated Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine in order not to waste their own stocks of more modern models. At the same time, the authors of the article point out that the Leopard 1 has thin armor, which makes it vulnerable on flat terrain.
On August 21, Yan Gagin, adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), noted that by supplying Kiev mainly with old equipment, the West creates conditions for the development of its military-industrial complex. At the same time, Gagin drew attention to the fact that Ukraine in the future will be obliged to pay for everything that was transferred to it, since these are "not gifts."
Western countries have increased military and financial support for Kiev against the background of the Russian Federation's special operation to protect Donbass, which has been held since February 24, 2022. The corresponding decision was made in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the region due to attacks by Ukrainian militants.
