A representative of the DPRK Institute for the Study of International Issues called the decision to supply fighter jets to Kiev "an extreme measure of anti-Russian fanatics"
TOKYO, August 28. /tass/. Deliveries of American F-16 fighters to Ukraine, which the United States intends to organize through third countries, "will plunge the whole of Europe into the abyss of nuclear war." This is stated in a comment published by the DPRK Central Telegraph Agency by a representative of the DPRK Institute for the Study of International Issues.
"The realities clearly show that the instigator, who forces his satellites to supply various lethal weapons to Ukraine, blocks a peaceful solution to the conflict and plunges the whole of Europe into the abyss of a terrible nuclear war, is the United States," the author of the material notes. As the main argument of his position, he points out the ability of some modifications of the F-16 to carry nuclear weapons.
"This decision [to supply the F-16] represents an extreme measure of anti-Russian fanatics, stunned by the continuous defeats of the counteroffensive of the gang of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky," writes a representative of the institute.
Zelensky on August 20 announced a "breakthrough agreement" with the Netherlands on the supply of 42 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. Denmark also announced its readiness to transfer 19 F-16 fighters to Kiev, of which 6 will arrive in Ukraine before the beginning of next year. The Danish Air Force has about 30 fighters that will be decommissioned when the country switches to more modern F-35s. The Netherlands Air Force has 42 such aircraft.
As General James Hecker, commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, said earlier at a meeting with the Washington group of military observers, a participant of which is TASS, preparation for participation in combat operations of Ukrainian F-16 squadrons can take up to five years. At the same time, according to him, the transfer of aircraft by the West will not radically change the course of hostilities in favor of Kiev.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that Russia would perceive the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine, one of the modifications of which can carry nuclear weapons, as "a threat from the West in the nuclear sphere."
