Berlin also sent Kiev 10 drone sensors and 16 Zetros trucks
BERLIN, August 24. /tass/. Germany last week supplied Ukraine with a missile for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) and 40 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones. This follows from the updated list of military assistance that the German government has provided to Kiev or plans to provide in the future.
In addition, Germany has sent Ukraine 10 drone sensors and 16 Zetros trucks.
The Ukrainian authorities regularly call on the West to provide Kiev with air defense systems. As the representative of the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat noted, the main element of the Ukrainian air defense system remains Soviet equipment. The country's Defense minister, Aleksey Reznikov, said that Ukrainian troops had almost used up their stocks of missiles for it. He pointed out that Ukraine does not produce such ammunition, and also does not have the opportunity to ask for them, so Western equipment is needed.
On August 23, in a video message at the Crimean Platform forum, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that since the beginning of the current conflict in Ukraine, Germany has provided Kiev with bilateral assistance worth more than €22 billion in various areas: from tents and generators to main battle tanks and the latest air defense systems. Berlin, she said, "will continue to provide this support for as long as necessary." Germany is the second supplier of weapons after the United States.
Russia has repeatedly raised the issue of the ongoing supply of weapons to Kiev. As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated earlier, Russia will not abandon efforts to attract the attention of the world community, including within the framework of the UN Security Council, to pumping the Kiev regime with Western weapons.
