Pyongyang's repeated attempt to launch a reconnaissance satellite of the DPRK again proved unsuccessful. But North Korea does not intend to deviate from its plans and will try to launch a spy spacecraft again in October.
This is reported by the KCNA agency (the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea), which has the status of a state media.
A failure in the emergency system during operation of the third stage of the launch vehicle is indicated as the reason for the failure.
Pyongyang tried to launch a Malligyong-1 reconnaissance satellite mounted on a new type of Chollima-1 rocket, but it failed due to a "small problem" related to cascade engines.
The North Korean National Aerospace Agency intends to find out the cause of the malfunction of the emergency system and will once again try to put the satellite into orbit in October. With a high degree of probability, the launch is scheduled for October 10 and will be timed to coincide with the founding day of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea in the DPRK.
According to a South Korean official from the Unification Ministry, which he expressed to reporters of the local Yonhap news agency, Pyongyang quickly notified the international community about the failed launch, as it had previously informed neighboring Japan about the upcoming launch of a satellite rocket.
