TSAMTO, August 22. The scientific and production enterprise "Radar MMC" has developed an electric drone that is maximally adapted to use without an operator.
This was reported to RIA Novosti by the executive director of the enterprise Ivan Antsev.
"The new model has a mass of 30 kg. It works for one and a half to two hours, depending on the conditions: in winter, a small part of the energy can go to thermal stabilization. The maximum speed is 90 km/h and depends on the flight conditions," said I.Antsev.
According to him, on the basis of such a drone, it is possible to create multifunctional transport systems capable of "operating without an operator at all in an extended moment of time."
The drone controls its condition independently due to artificial intelligence, which is able to make a decision to return to the base or crash-land in case of any failures due to predictive analytics. The company chose electric drones for these purposes, because they are much easier to operate, they can be charged automatically. In addition, they have a significantly larger resource due to a smaller number of moving parts.
"The task is to get away from the operator as much as possible, automate as much as possible, thereby reducing the cost of a particular service, this is the essence of the new development. Electric drones allow us to do this," I. Antsev clarified in an interview with RIA Novosti.
It is assumed that the charging of such drones will take place on drone ports, where the devices will return after completing tasks. At the moment when one drone arrived at the drone port, another one will take off from there to continue the tasks, "that is, it turns out like a 24/7 carousel," the executive director of the enterprise stressed.
