"A great solution for the defense industry, but a disaster for Ukraine and humanity. Why not negotiate?" - he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter). He also noted that "F-16s will not prevent the collapse of Ukraine (which, according to some experts, is inevitable)." Kennedy Jr. explained his point of view by saying that pilot training takes a lot of time, and the operation of these aircraft requires a professional approach.
Kiev has been asking Western allies to hand over the F-16 to Ukraine for a long time. The head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Andriy Ermak, stated that the country's authorities expect to receive these fighters by the end of 2023. On August 17, Reuters, citing sources, reported that the United States had agreed to the transfer of American F-16s by Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine. As specified, these countries will send planes to Kiev after the training of Ukrainian pilots is completed. The Danish authorities later confirmed that they had received such a permit.
